Don’t let a lack of energy stop you achieving your health and wellness goals. Try these quick tips:

  • Try Tea

You don’t need to rely on coffee for a pick-me up. Tea can also help energise you. Drinking tea is great for hydration, is low in calories, and green tea or other types of caffeinated tea can help boost energy levels and metabolism. Better still, tea can be consumed hot or cold.

  • Workout Early

If you get to the end of the day and you’ve run out of energy to exercise, try switching up your routine and working out in the morning. Lay your workout gear out the night before, set your alarm and get moving early as a way to start your day. It may sound a bit daunting to some, but once you get in the rhythm of morning workouts, you’ll love how it makes you feel energized throughout the day.

  • Add Protein at Breakfast Time

A good amount of protein (approx. 20-30 grams) combined with quality carbs can help deliver sustained energy. Carbs should include fruit and quality wholegrains. Try eggs on wholegrain toast, wholegrain cereal with fruit and yoghurt or a protein shake with a piece of fruit.

  • Focus on Sleep

A lack of sleep can impact your energy levels, especially around mid-afternoon. To help improve your quality and quantity of sleep (try to aim for seven or eight hours a night), set a schedule where you go to bed and get up at the same time each night.
